Chairman
Dave Condon
Dave has been riding both off and on road motorcycles since the late 60’s, with a 20 year sabbatical to raise a family. He's been involved in motorcyclist’s rights since 2000, when he got involved as a result of a barroom bet. He swears he wasn’t drunk at the time, although now, he has his doubts. Dave started with ABATE of MA, as their Essex County Rep, then Executive Director, and Chairman of ABATE of MA PAC, before ABATE’S merger with the MMA in 2002. He has previously served as the MMA Essex County Rep, District One Rep. He is also the MRF Assistant State Rep for MA. Dave currently resides in Salem, and rides a 1998 Harley Davidson FXDS, Conv.
Join the MMA, Every Membership counts and goes a long way.

Vice Chairman
Dave Elias
Dave has been riding since he cobbled together a Sears Mini Bike at age 14. He then graduated to dirt bikes, which he enjoyed off road until he was old enough to get a license at which time he aquired his first street bike. Through the years, Dave road on and off road and saw countless trails and powerlines closed to riders. Adventures on the road saw rejection from parking lots, harassing stops for no apparent reason and out and out denial of entry just because he was on a motorcycle. After he experienced discrimination first hand, and all the restrictive laws, Dave searched for an answer. The answer for him is the MMA. He volunteers his time, to help the MMA increase our membership, so we can better achieve our goals, for the benefit of all riders. "If you are a member, thank you, there is Power in Numbers, If you are not a member, become one and help us increase the Power of the MMA to get it done for you!"

Treasurer
Dave Kristal
Dave kept his first bike, a '80 Honda 500Deluxe, at a friend’s house because his parents would have flipped. He added touring bags, a radio and CB, and joined a local riding club, "The Compass Riders." He was their treasurer, too. Today, Dave rides a 1996 Harley Ultra Classic.
Dave recommends taking a rider course regardless of your experience, “…when you think you know it all, you still learn something. Even after riding for 13 years and serving as a Road Captain for Merrimack Valley Chapter HOG, I take a course every now and then. I learn something new every time. It makes me a better rider.”
Dave joined the MMA even though he’s “not big into politics, and I don't feel I have the time or patience. But, I respect what the MMA stands for and does for rider rights. Everyone deserves the right of Freedom of Choice. I don't care how you vote, or what you are voting on, we should all have the right to chose.”

District 1 Manager
Richard Schofield
Dick has been riding motorcycles since he first "borrowed" his brothers Honda 350 while he was in the Marine Corps, in the early 60's. He eventually bought a $200 1963 Triumph which he used for many years to ride around the Malden area. After a stint in the U.S. Army, Dick got married and put all thoughts of riding again off until his children were older. Well the riding bug never really went away and he bought his first Harley in 1993, a Fat Boy, and resumed his love of riding. Dick joined the MMA almost immediately upon resuming riding when he realized that many of the freedoms he enjoyed while riding in the 60's were slowly being taken away. "When I was riding around as a kid, we didn't even have to wear a helmet" he says. "The MMA is the only organization that is constantly diligent in protecting biker rights, which we are losing at an alarming rate".
|

District 1 Rep.
John Pecora
John began riding in the '60s, during a time when motorcyclists were free to ride without helmets. For many years, he only dreamed of riding while he served in the military, married and raised his children and established his business. During those years, the passion for riding remained strong, and in 1993, he purchased a used '88 Soft Tail. This time he never looked back! In 2000, he joined the MMA to get involved with protecting biker's rights and all rider freedoms. John has previously served at Middlesex County Rep. Get involved or
don't complain!

District 4 Manager
Tanker Griswold
Alan goes by the name Tanker. He started with motorcycles at the age of 7 with his first Honda 50, and never looked back! He took a little break from motorcycles when he was self employed as an owner/operator and while starting his family. But now that the kids are grown, and he is in the construction business with normal hours, he and his wife love going for long rides in the country. Tanker got involved with MMA through his brother-in-law and liked what the organization stands for and represents. Tanker became the Hampshire Country Rep a few years ago, in 2008 joined the Board of Directors as the representative of Industry Affairs, and became District 4 Manager in 2009.

Barnstable County Rep.
Rick Strawn
Rick has been riding since 1973, when he got out of the Coast Guard, and moved to Cape Cod in MA. He joined the MMA in '97 when, just by chance, while out riding his bike one night, he saw a bike show set up in a local parking lot, and stopped in to see what it was all about. Rick soon started talking with some some of the MMA members at the show and they invited him to a local MMA meeting. He liked what he heard and the rest is history.
|

Berkshire County Rep.
Joe Tatro
Joe was recently dubbed "Road Kill" by his fellow riders. He received this dubious"honor" due to his habit of being targeted by cagers, and getting hit, not once but three separate times, by three different inattentive drivers. As you might guess, after getting the short end of the insurance settlement stick after the 1st crash, (never mind the 2nd and 3rd) he knew that he wanted to work to help correct the injustices that he, and other riders face daily. He joined the AMA after he heard about their national "Justice For All" campaign, and then to help on a more localized level, he joined the MMA, initially to help getting a Right of Way bill passed in Mass. Joe says, "My wish is that every rider here in Mass will someday join the MMA and help us in our efforts?".

|

Bristol County Rep.
Kevin "Gunny" Moreira
Gunny's passion for riding started when he got a hand me down 1983 Honda CB650. Since that first Honda, the bike has changed, but the passion for the ride has gotten stronger then ever. Gunny joined the MMA while serving in Iraq in 2003 with fellow MMA Norfolk Co. Rep., Ray Pike. After speaking to Ray about what the MMA does, he knew that he wanted in. Gunny became the Bristol County Rep in 2007 after returning from his second tour oversea's. He currently lives in Raynham with his wife and three children. Gunny is also one of the organizers for Brian's Ride which is a spin off of Nelson's Ride from the north shore (www.massmsf.org). Lets all band together and let the Beacon Hill non-riders know that we will not stop until all our voices are heard. Ride on and Ride Safe.

Norfolk County Rep.
Ray Pike III
Ray first began motorcycling in the late 80s with his first bike, a 500cc Yamaha. He currently rides a '93 FLT Ultra Classic. About ten years later he joined the MMA because "it seemed like the right thing to do if (we) don't want to lose the rights (we) still have" in the State. As the Norfolk County Rep he works to promote safe and responsible legislation, retain current freedoms, and regain a few lost. "The MMA is not a *me* thing, it's a *we* thing...don't ever catch yourself asking another motorcyclists 'what are you guys doing about (motorcyclist rights)?" Even a simple action -- like calling the Statehouse instead of thinking the next guy will take care of that -- is greater than a pile of inactions and excuses!" Its a fact: more members = more voices (and votes) at the State House. Ride Safe and God Bless.

Worcester County Rep.
Dave Menard
Dave’s been riding for over thirty years, starting back in the early 70’s. Owned several bikes and then the kids came along and the bikes were sold as the priorities changed. Always in the back of his mind, was the day he and his wife could go back to riding. It came in 97 with the purchase of a new Roadking. That’s when they renewed their passion for riding and never looked back. Since then he’s owned an Ultra Classis and they’ve put on over 100,000 miles between his 2 bikes, discovering every back road in New England and earning the nickname Magellan. They met some really good friends with similar interests, and one of them heard about a meeting of the Modified Motorcycle Association at a local bar so they checked it out, liked what they had to say, and him and his wife both became members. He eventually became a board member representing District III. He is also a member of the AMA, and President of the Blackstone Valley Motorcyclists’ Survivors Fund. Dave thinks it’s important for every rider in the state to become a member of the MMA. He is pictured here with his wife of 33 yrs. Cindy; they do everything together.

Ex-Officio - Past Chairman
Jimi Ricci
Jimi started riding on 2 wheels when he got a Sears mini bike back in the mid 60’s. His 1st street bike was an old rigid Triumph 650, but due to life choices, he rarely rode that bike, as other things became way more important. When he did clean up his act, he bought an old FLH in the mid 80’s and started seriously riding again. It was in the mid 90’s when Jimi's introduction to motorcycle issues at the State House was born, when his State Rep told him about a bill pending that would have prohibited passengers under 16 from riding. Jimi says, "As a single parent, this got me off my ass and into the arena of motorcycle legislation".

MMA Web Administrator
Matt Montmeny
In 2000, Matt's father purchased his first bike in over 20 years after raising a family. Soon thereafter, Matt discovered his own passion for riding and purchased a Honda Shadow 750. He has ridden up and down the east coast, from Florida to Maine, and completed the Iron Butt SaddleSore 1000 ride (1,000 miles in 24 hours). After moving to Boston and purchasing a Road King, he became frustrated that even the simple act of parking drew the negative attention of inexpert enforcement officers and little understanding from magistrates. He decided to become active with an organization that would make his voice heard and joined the MMA to protect the rights of all riders.
